Connecting the Dots to Create a Legally Defensible IEP
Meeting the legal standard for a legally defensible IEP is not easy; defending an IEP in a due process hearing is extremely difficult in the current world of the Office of Administrative Hearings…but it is possible! This workshop will focus on how to write an IEP that can withstand the current OAH litmus test. We will look at how to write appropriate present levels that who the student’s unique circumstances as required by Endrew F. We will connect those present levels to baselines and goals. We will then discuss how to use that information to offer placement and services in the least restrictive environment. We will touch on the current trend in the law toward inclusion. This workshop is intended for all members of IEP teams. Attendees will have the opportunity to actively participate and ask questions throughout the workshop.
